Did you know the novel Alice In Wonderland was written in 1865? Written by author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, the original edition was titled Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The story tells a tale of a young girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole, and enters Wonderland to find strange and abstract animals, plants, and even mother nature. The first ever Alice In Wonderland movie was made as a silent film in 1903, directed by Cecil Hepworth and Percy Stow. The popular Disney version was made almost 50 years later in animation form. Most recently, Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland was released this year in 2010, and spent 3 weeks as the number 1 movie in the United States.

Just 374 years ago today, America’s oldest University was established by Massachusetts legislature, Harvard University. Harvard was named after it’s first sponsor, John Harvard who left his library and half his property to the institution upon his death. Harvard has more than 2,000 employed that teach and advise students. Eight United States presidents have graduated from Harvard including current President Barack Obama. Lady Gaga recently revealed her intense desire to stay healthy with her demanding worldwide concert schedule. Since fainting during a concert in New Zealand earlier this year, Gaga has become a stickler for maintaining a healthy routine, according to her choreographer LaurieAnn Gibson.
The pop superstar stays healthy by watching what she puts on her plate. ”It’s all about salsa with grain chips, tofu, turkey slices, hummus and coconut water,” says the choreographer, who is nominated for two MTV VMAs for Gaga’s “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” videos.

We all remember this DC Comic.Jonah battled alcoholism, and as an adult faced his mother’s turn to prostitution. Though he traveled extensively throughout the American West, he also ended up in South America and China. At one point he quit bounty hunting, married and had a son, and took up farming, though it did not last.
Hex’s facial injuries can be traced back to being sold into slavery by his father to some Apache for safe passage. Jonah eventually saved the chief from being killed by a mountain lion and was made an honorary member of the tribe. He was soon betrayed by the envious son of the chief while on a raid. He returned years later to challenge him in a sacred tomahawk battle, but the chief’s son sabotaged Jonah’s tomahawk. Jonah used his knife in self-defense when the tomahawk broke. The tribe saw this as breaking the rules of the sacred battle and sentenced Jonah to wear the mark of the demon by pressing a searing hot tomahawk to his face. They said his honorary relationship to the chief was the only thing that saved him from death.

The tea party, when Alice arrives, is characterized by switching places on the table at any given time, making short, personal remarks, asking unanswerable riddles and reciting nonsensical poetry, all of which eventually drive Alice away. He appears again as a witness at the Knave of Hearts’ trial, where the Queen appears to recognize him as the singer she sentenced to death, and the King also cautions him not to be nervous “or I’ll have you executed on the spot.” Pretty scary, huh?
